Mesfin Hagos

Mesfin Hagos was a founding member of the Eritrean People’s Liberation Front (EPLF) in 1970 and rose to be the most celebrated field commander of its liberation army. On Eritrea’s independence in 1991, he served as Minister of Defense. He is the only senior Eritrean official to have resigned his post. He now lives in Germany.
